Screw Animal Collective and Grizzly Bear, this is my overly premature pick for album of the year. Pop flourishes mixed with African guitar and two part female harmonies, its 'Bitte Orca' by the Dirty Projectors. Nope, can't beat this. Oh, the full album is streaming here at the NPR website.

Fresh Biscuit: Dirty Projectors Video
There's a new single by Brooklyn avant-garde collective Dirty Projectors which is currently blowing my mind. The video for the song "Stillness is the Move" is not much to look at, in fact I'm pretty sure the video cost them $12 to make. Thats just for the pile of guacamole. The song is the real treasure, featuring a mind melting African styled guitar lick throughout and lead vocals from one of his backup singers. Watching is optional, listening is mandatory.
'Bitte Orca' comes out June 9th so mark your calendars.
